Crete captured their attention with its great energy and when it came the time to plan their destination wedding in Greece they decided to host a small gathering with close friends and family. All the guests were gathered from around the world : Europe , The Netherlands , Iran and many other countries. The couple chose to honour their union on the beautiful Ktima Reveli near Chania town.
Both coming from a Persian background , the ethnic details in all the parts of the day were a must.
The symbolic styled table in the middle of the ceremony laid with all the traditional goods such as the sugar cones, walnuts , rock candy, rose water, honey , flatbread and the seven herbs was there metaphorically to honour the newlyweds with love, wealth, prosperity, fertility and a sweet life. Moreover, the Ayeneh or the Mirrors’ inclusion Symbolises the bringing light and brightness into the couple’s future. During the ceremony, the couple typically looks into the mirror together.
Amir and Nickie also chose to incorporate a traditional Chuppah. A hand made cloth where the couple stands under as the officiant carries out the wedding ceremony.It is customarily held by four females in the family who are close to the couple and symbolises unity.
